15-Year-long star thrown out for the first time in his career, LeBron James, who plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers, was in his 1,082nd game against his former team, the Miami Heat, with only two minutes left in the third quarter. This happened on November 29, 2017 on a Wednesday.

LeBron got possession of the ball back, dribbling up court and going into the paint for a layup. He felt like he was fouled by Miami forward James Johnson, but however, the referee then gave James a technical foul, followed by an ejection from the game.

“I got fouled all the way up the court, from the time that I stripped him, all the way until I got to the rim,” James said leading up to his ejection from the game in a post-game interview, “I said what I had to say and then I moved on, but he decided I should get ejected. It is what it is. We got the win, and that’s what’s most important.”

Fitzgerald, the official that ejected LeBron, explained why he did so after the game to a reporter, saying “It was a culmination of a couple different acts . . . Immediately after the no-call, he turned and threw an air punch directly at me, and then he aggressively charged at me, and then he used vulgarity in my ear a few times.”

Students have mixed reaction to seeing one of the most famous basketball player ejected for the first time. Some support him and argue to defend him while some argue against him. Others are saying it was the fact that it was the team’s fault for having a bad season that resulted in LeBron’s frustration.

“LeBron was in the heat of the moment, he got mad, and it ended up costing him with the ejection. It’s about time he gets ejected, every time there’s a call he doesn’t like he screams at the ref and never gets ejected.” commented Junior Jason Sanfilippo.
