Trump in the Lead

Donald Trump currently leads the Republican polls for the 2016 Presidential Election.  Entering the race for the Republican nomination as a surprising non-politician, Trump has shocked many as he has risen up to the main stage of the political world. After threatening a presidential run in 2012, the billionaire businessman stepped into the limelight for real this time.

Trump has polled exceptionally well, shocking many. The first time in many years that a non-politician has run, Trump has promised to stand for what many believe all politicians lack: truth. SRO Dubois gave insight to this belief. “I like that he is running for president. It proves to the American people that anyone can be president, and it makes those running work harder to be honest. Trump makes both Democrats and Republicans better politicians for the people,” said Dubois.

Dubois does not stand alone, with proof in the polls. Trump is currently up ten points, taking his biggest lead since September. Also, according to polls Trump gets support from 28% of the Republican field, a majority of the party. Additionally, ABC’s Washington Post poll has Trump in the lead with a 42% likelihood of getting the nomination and running in the general election. What may be the most shocking to his non-supporters is the fact that 39% of Republicans think Trump would deal with immigration the best way, although he is very extremist and controversial.

With the primaries approaching quickly, the race will continue to heat up. The candidates will continue to instill their beliefs and ideals on the American people, and attempt to slam down their opponents. The remainder of the race will separate the elite from the rest, resulting in a few top candidates considered, while the rest fall to lesser chances. With honesty and truth proving to be of ultimate importance to the American people, the candidates will have to win over the hearts and minds of the nation.
