WHHS star athlete Jason Modak received the News 12 varsity player of the week award in mid-November, just one of this varsity player’s many accomplishments.

A well-rounded, three-sport varsity athlete (football, basketball, and baseball), Modak maintains 3.68 GPA and is involved in NHS. Modak, a senior at WHHS, just finishing high school football as offensive guard and defensive end made an incredible impact on the program, and is now preparing for his future as a student-athlete.

Modak plans to play college football while hopefully studying business.  He is uncertain where he will attend college but is applying to Bentley, Towson, University of New Hampshire and Lafayette College

“I use very precise time management to balance everything,” says Modak of his hectic sports and academic schedule.  He indicated that his family has been supportive through all of his endeavors.  “My family is always pushing me to do my best, helping to get me where I am today.”

“I never really thought about it, but I really appreciate the award and the support of my peers,” said Modak of the award and the attention he has been given.

The football season may have ended, but Modak is heading right into his next season of basketball.
